Even though I haven't been posting much up because it is the summer and I'm too busy and lazy, I thought this warranted posting.

I've always had an affinity for over-the-top metal bands, mostly because I don't know how fans or they themselves buy into their own image; sometimes they're just too out of control.

The vast majority lack originality and the ability to scare anyone over nine years old, but I just love to look at pictures of these guys, almost as much as I like to hear what attempted depressing and loathsome names they can come up with. Silva once was making up black heavy metal band names, and people were believing them, stuff like Scumdogs of the Universe and The Infant Rapists.

Some guy made a page of the most ridiculous metal band pics in history. Now this guy knows exactly what I'm talking about.

MTV Loves Itself

Real quick moment of anger.

I just read an article about the MTV Movies Awards that says that Napoleon Dynamite and Mean Girls won big at the awards this year, with Napoleon winning Best Movie.

Just so everyone is aware, both of those movies were produced by MTV Films.

Two shitty movies that people will feel validated in liking now because "...it won a lot of awards at the MTV movie awards."

Big fucking deal. It's not really valid when a company gives awards to itself.

I bet I'll be even more annoyed when they end up rerunning it 30,000 times.
